Monday 13 July 2026 Congratulations Year 6: Class of 2026 Year 6 marked the end of their time at Edison with two wonderful celebrations. They gave an outstanding performance of Shakespeare Rocks!, bringing the production to life with confidence, energy and enthusiasm. The celebrations continued with the Year 6 leavers’ party, where the children enjoyed an evening of music, dancing, games and delicious food. They looked wonderful in their smart and stylish outfits,

Friday 10 July 2026 Edison Celebrates Spanish Day Our whole school, from Reception to Year 6, came together to celebrate Spanish Day through a range of exciting activities. Across the school, pupils enjoyed Spanish singing, dancing and creative art activities. In Key Stage 2, children explored the work of famous Spanish artists Pablo Picasso and Antoni Gaudí, creating their own inspiring pieces of artwork.

Wednesday 8 July 2026 Claude Monet's Lily Pads During Arts and Crafts Club, the children have been busy creating beautiful clay lily pads inspired by our focus artist, Claude Monet. They explored the shapes, textures and colours found in his famous Water Lilies paintings before designing and sculpting their own unique clay models.

Tuesday 7 July 2026 Year 2 Visit Bournemouth Beach On Tuesday 7th July, our Year 2 children enjoyed a fantastic day at Bournemouth Beach as part of their History and Geography learning. They explored the seaside by identifying and drawing its physical and human features, helping to bring their classroom learning to life.

Tuesday 30 June 2026 Edison Win Hounslow Cricket Competition! Edison Primary has made school history in spectacular fashion after storming to victory in the borough boys' cricket tournament, outplaying 15 other schools on their way to lifting the trophy! From the very first match, our teams brought serious energy to the pitch, smashing huge sixes, racing boundaries to the rope, and showing incredible teamwork and determination that had the crowds buzzing.

Thursday 18 June 2026 Farming at Bocketts Farm On Thursday, Reception had a truly wonderful day on our trip to Bocketts Farm! We met so many amazing animals, including horses, llamas, sheep, pigs and many more. Some of our children were even brave enough to feed the animals!

Thursday 11 June 2026 A Royal Visit to Windsor Castle Rain certainly didn't stop Year 1 from having a royally good time at Windsor Castle! Armed with waterproofs, excitement, and plenty of smiles, the children set off for a day fit for kings and queens.

Tuesday 9 June 2026 Stitching Cushions in Year 1 Year 1 have been making cushions in their DT lessons. The children designed their own cushions and then carefully made them using different materials and techniques.

Friday 22 May 2026 Edison Girl's Cricket Team Triumph! On the final day of Summer 1, our Year 5 and 6 girls’ cricket team proudly represented the school at the Hounslow Finals, competing against some of the strongest schools in the borough. The girls demonstrated excellent teamwork, determination and sporting spirit throughout a series of challenging matches.

Wednesday 20 May 2026 Year 3 Design Egyptian Collars In DT, Year 3 children explored the art of appliqué and discovered how it can be used to decorate fabric creatively. They learned about cross stitch and running stitch, developing their sewing skills while working carefully and safely with needles and thread.

Monday 18 May 2026 Sports Day at Bedfont Sports Club On Monday 18th May, our Year 4, 5 and 6 Sports Day was a fantastic success, with all children getting fully involved and representing their house teams with enthusiasm and determination. Pupils took part in a range of events, including sprint races, the egg and spoon race, tennis ball collect, standing long jump and archery.

Wednesday 13 May 2026 Hungry Caterpillars in Reception! The children have had a lovely week exploring The Very Hungry Caterpillar. They have been retelling the story using their own words and actions, helping them build confidence with sequencing and new vocabulary.

Monday 27 April 2026 Year 2 Explore Henri Rousseau During the Spring Term, in our Year 2 Art lesson, pupils explored the work of Henri Rousseau, focusing on his vibrant jungle scenes filled with detailed leaves, plants, and Animals.

Friday 24 April 2026 A Night at the Science Museum Year 5 had an unforgettable adventure during their overnight trip to the Science Museum last Friday! Pupils left school on Friday afternoon full of excitement as they boarded the coach, ready for a night of science and fun. After arriving, everyone set up their sleeping area with sleeping bags and pillows before jumping straight into their first activity, designing and building bases for astronauts on Mars.

Tuesday 21 April 2026 iRock "rock out" at Edison Our school was buzzing with energy as iRock visited our school for an unforgettable music assembly! All the children had the chance to sing along, explore different instruments, and experience the thrill of performing as part of a band. The session was filled with enthusiasm, teamwork, and plenty of rockstar spirit.

Tuesday 21 April 2026 Year 5 Celebrate Vaisakhi On Tuesday 21st April, Year 5 proudly hosted their Arts Afternoon, which was a vibrant celebration of Vaisakhi. The afternoon began with a spice painting activity, where pupils used a variety of colourful spices to create beautiful scenery pieces and eye-catching posters inspired by the festival. Parents and families were then warmly welcomed with delicious coconut ladoos, giving everyone the chance to enjoy a traditional treat before the performance began. Year 5 then took to the stage and impressed the audience with a fantastic performance that transported everyone back to 1699, teaching us about the origins of Vaisakhi and the creation of the Khalsa. The celebration ended on a high with an energetic song and dance performance that brought lots of joy and excitement to the afternoon and even encouraged some audience members to join in on the dance floor! A special thank you goes to Rahki for supporting our dance group with her beautiful choreography, and to the wonderful Year 6 girls

Monday 9 March 2026 Edison Celebrates Science Week Our Science Ambassadors — Isaac, Vijay, Akanya, Bella, Dilraj, Zoha, Shifa, Tamoghna, Charvik, Anya, Dev, Purajit and Aprit — from Reception through to Year 6, led this week’s KS1 and KS2 Science Assembly with real confidence and enthusiasm. They spoke clearly and introduced the whole school to this year’s Science Week theme: curiosity.

Friday 6 March 2026 Happy World Book Day from all of us at Edison On Friday 6th March, our school celebrated World Book Day with a fantastic day dedicated to reading. The children enjoyed exploring a wide range of exciting reading activities throughout the day, designed to inspire a love of books and storytelling.

Friday 6 March 2026 Year 6 become Haematologists at Edison Year 6 had a fascinating week exploring how blood works by creating their own “blood in a bottle.” Using simple materials, they followed step by step instructions to model the different parts of blood and see how each component plays an important role.

Wednesday 4 March 2026 Celebrating Holi at Edison Reception had a wonderful Holi Arts Afternoon, celebrating with colour, creativity, and joy. The children loved performing and were very proud to share their songs and activities with everyone.

Thursday 26 February 2026 Year 6 Celebrate Eid! Year 6 enjoyed a wonderful Eid Art Afternoon, celebrating the traditions and joy of Eid with their families. Pupils worked alongside their parents to create beautiful hanging crafts featuring stars and moons, symbols often associated with the Islamic faith.
