Year 3 Design Egyptian Collars

In DT, Year 3 children explored the art of appliqué and discovered how it can be used to decorate fabric creatively. They learned about cross stitch and running stitch, developing their sewing skills while working carefully and safely with needles and thread.

Using felt shapes, the children designed and created their own colourful Egyptian collars, attaching pieces neatly onto fabric. Throughout the project, the children demonstrated excellent perseverance, collaboration and creativity as they shared ideas, supported one another and took pride in their finished pieces.

Their patience and determination helped them build confidence and produce thoughtful, detailed and imaginative textile designs.
