The Edison Curriculum

Our curriculum is the vehicle through which our school vision comes to life.

We have designed it to ignite young minds: a broad, ambitious and engaging curriculum that gives every child the extensive knowledge and skills they need, sequenced carefully so that learning builds year on year and is remembered rather than simply covered.

Science holds an integral and special place at Edison. It is the thread that runs through our school, giving children the chance to question, investigate, be wrong, try again and discover — the habits that make curious, confident learners in every subject.

Alongside this, we are determined that our curriculum develops the whole child: rich opportunities in the arts, sport, reading and the wider world, and the vocabulary and cultural knowledge that allow every pupil to take part fully in it.

Our curriculum is built to be inclusive, so that all children access the same ambitious content with the scaffolding they need to succeed.

Above all, we want our children to leave us well rounded, self-aware and respectful, with high aspirations for themselves and a genuine belief that they can change the world for a brighter tomorrow.
