Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
We are committed to ensuring that all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), receive the right support to make progress and feel included.
Ms Dar is our Special Education Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENCO).
This information is designed for parents and carers of primary-aged children and explains how we identify needs, plan support, and work with families and other professionals.
At Edison Primary, we use a graduated approach to support children’s learning. This includes early identification of needs, careful assessment, and planning targeted interventions. Where additional support is required, we set clear outcomes, review progress regularly, and adjust provision as needed. We work closely with class teachers, the SENDCo, and relevant professionals to ensure support is appropriate and effective for each child.
We value strong partnerships with parents and carers. You will be involved in discussions about your child’s needs and the support being put in place, and we encourage you to share relevant information and observations. If your child requires specialist support, we will work with external services where appropriate and keep you informed about next steps.
If you have questions or would like to talk about your child’s needs, please contact the school office or the SENDCo.
