Claude Monet's Lily Pads

During Arts and Crafts Club, the children have been busy creating beautiful clay lily pads inspired by our focus artist, Claude Monet. They explored the shapes, textures and colours found in his famous Water Lilies paintings before designing and sculpting their own unique clay models.
Inspired by Monet’s beautiful use of colour and nature, the children created their own lily pads using paper plates and a range of materials including tissue paper, paint, and card. They enjoyed experimenting with different textures and creative techniques to design their artwork. The activity encouraged imagination, creativity, and fine motor skills, and the children were very proud of their finished pieces inspired by Monet’s iconic paintings.

This creative activity encouraged the children to develop their fine motor skills, imagination and artistic techniques while learning about one of history's most celebrated artists.
We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm, creativity and the wonderful clay lily pads they have produced, which reflect both their hard work and growing artistic confidence.
