Year 5 Celebrate Vaisakhi

On Tuesday 21st April, Year 5 proudly hosted their Arts Afternoon, which was a vibrant celebration of Vaisakhi.
The afternoon began with a spice painting activity, where pupils used a variety of colourful spices to create beautiful scenery pieces and eye-catching posters inspired by the festival. Parents and families were then warmly welcomed with delicious coconut ladoos, giving everyone the chance to enjoy a traditional treat before the performance began.
Year 5 then took to the stage and impressed the audience with a fantastic performance that transported everyone back to 1699, teaching us about the origins of Vaisakhi and the creation of the Khalsa. The celebration ended on a high with an energetic song and dance performance that brought lots of joy and excitement to the afternoon and even encouraged some audience members to join in on the dance floor!
A special thank you goes to Rahki for supporting our dance group with her beautiful choreography, and to the wonderful Year 6 girls who kindly helped throughout the event. A huge well done to all of Year 5!
