Hungry Caterpillars in Reception!

The children have had a lovely week exploring The Very Hungry Caterpillar. They have been retelling the story using their own words and actions, helping them build confidence with sequencing and new vocabulary.

They also enjoyed a food‑tasting activity inspired by the caterpillar’s journey, talking about the colours, textures, and flavours of each item.

One of the highlights has been observing real caterpillars in our classroom. The children have been watching them closely each day and noticing how they grow and change, giving them a hands‑on introduction to life cycles.
